A special welcome to the Bishop & Co. web site where you will be able to see just what we do.
Under the current management Bishop & Co. has become known as a company that provides professional advice and service to their clients. These services come mainly in the form of Property and Livestock Husbandry and Management. As many of our clients are professional business persons and in some instances they are absentee owners, they do not have the expertise in the management of their properties in which case they rely upon our experience to carry out all livestock operations, which includes the purchasing and marketing of their livestock as well as the full husbandry schedule.
The Northern Rivers of New South Wales and the adjacent New England Tablelands are known as the Nursery for the production of young re-stocker cattle. Literally thousands of young cattle of all descriptions and breeds leave this area annually between the months of February and June. Destinations of thesescattle include Southern and Central Queensland, Western, Central and Southern New South Wales and Victoria. Our company is strategically positioned within this area to provide producers from these regions with a buying service for any type or number of cattle, buying to their specifications to suit their needs.
While retaining our presence in our local trading area, Bishop & Co. has entered in to a joint venture with Ramsey & Bulmer, Livestock Auctioneers of Casino to market our clients cattle at the Casino Regional Livestock Exchange. With annual average throughut of 100,000 plus head of cattle, the Casino saleyards attracts a stronger contingent of local and national buyers. With a larger number of buyers and the close proximity to the Northern Co-op Meat Co abattoirs comes stonger competition giving our clients a better return on their cattle.
Bishop & Co has conducted many and varied types of auctions, including on farm clearing sales of livestock, machinery and household items, industrial clearing sales, bankruptcy sales and charity auctions.
